LA DoGooder Hackathon

May 10th-11th, 2014
The LA DoGooder hackathon event will kick off an intensive 12 day experience for social good organizations and filmmakers to get deep in to the art of mission-based storytelling.

Saturday, May 10th, 2014
6:00pm-9:30pm

On Saturday night we will reveal the filmmaker-organization pairings. The DoGooder team and guest speakers will lead a discussion on the concepts behind storytelling in the digital age, and rallying people for a cause in creative ways. Participants will hear from master entrepreneurs and filmmakers on how to tell and capture a compelling story. We’ll provide light food and drinks for the evening, but when we run out we’ll be heading to a local watering hole for to keep the momentum going.

Sunday, May 11th, 2014
1pm-6pm (Refreshments to follow)
Sunday we get to work. The 25 teams will use this time begin creating two-minute films that illustrate and engage audiences in the Los Angeles area.
Mentorship opportunities will be provided by LA Do Gooder, heads of local Los Angeles foundations, corporate giving programs, regional media, city departments, universities, non-profits, social entrepreneurs, artists, and more.
